SXL Sales Coordinator/Production Planner

We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Sales Coordinator / Production Planner to join our ShearXL team. This is a varied role that combines customer service, sales coordination, production planning, purchasing, and administration to ensure the smooth flow of work from customer enquiry through to production and delivery.

The ideal candidate will have excellent organisational and communication skills, be comfortable managing multiple priorities, and enjoy working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Experience in production planning, sales coordination, or manufacturing administration would be advantageous, along with strong IT skills and a keen eye for detail.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working across multiple functions and wants to play a key role in delivering outstanding customer service and operational performance.

Main responsibilities:

Stores/purchasing:

  • Receive materials and issue to works orders (WO).
  • Book FG into stock and despatch to customer.
  • Request material/tooling quotes and raise purchase orders (PO).

Account managing/sales engineer:

  • Main point of contact – general enquiries, prod redates, QA queries etc.
  • Load and acknowledge sales orders.
  • Collate customer/SXL order books.
  • Raise customer enquiries and quote as necessary.
  • Re-cost and up-issue existing parts as necessary.
  • Raise up-issue and new part contract reviews.

Production/Planning:

  • Raise and print works orders.
  • Populate and manage SXL production plan.
  • Update sales order report dashboard with WIP/material status.
  • Complete first run to production run process.
  • Monitor and tidy labour bookings.
  • Update routers as necessary post WO completion.
  • Raise and oversee Contract Review process.

Admin:

  • Scan and file completed works orders.
  • Scan and file casting deliveries.
  • Record staff hours and on occasion, submit overtime.
  • Create +QDIPE.
  • Create & manage works instructions.

Other responsibilities:   

  • Raise customer quality complaints in the system and provide updates through to resolution.
  • Ensure all company standards are promoted and maintained.
  • Ensure safe working practices at all times.
  • Ensure that all company quality procedures and quality processes are adhered to and maintained at all times.
  • Ensure commitment to the company H&S and Environmental Policy.
  • Carry out any other duties which may from time to time be reasonably requested to assist in the day to day running of the company.
