Originally started as Last Engineering. Based in Ely, Cambridgeshire.

Last Engineering became a well-respected sub-contractor serving the Motorsport industry across the UK.
Autosport machining

2010

Shearline Precision Engineering purchased the assets and building of Last Engineering. It was re-named SXL (Shear XL). The staff were acquired.
SXL

2013

SXL diversifies its services, supplying parts into other industries - whilst still maintaining its reputation within the Motorsport industry.

Significant year of investment with the arrival of a Matsuura MAM72-100H and a Matsuura MX-520
